All my life...

All my life I have wanted a GIANT teddy bear! Seriously! It's just been one of those things! When I got home from work, Sean was taking a nap cudding with this HUGE bear! Turns out, he got me one for Valentine's day! It's almost as big as me! It's so cute and has little hearts for the paw prints!!! I am so happy that Sean humors the little girl inside me! I told Sean I have it so I can cuddle with something while he works at night! I love Valentine's, don't you?

One more thing...

Sean got a new calling!!!!

He is now the Ward Mission Leader!

It's so exciting!!! He said he feels like he is a missionary again. We are ready for the new adventure!

This past weekend...

So this last week was probably one of the craziest that I have had...at least since Christmas! I was able to do something that I absolutely LOVE! I helped plan and set up for a few events! Friday was a combined ward Valentine's Dance, and Saturday was the Sealing and reception of the Salazar family! Here's how it went...

Thursday night I was at the church until 11:30 setting up the lights and decor for the dance.
Friday, I bought my first little black dress, then Sean and I danced (and ate) it up at the dance!
Saturday morning--first thing--I had to get up early to go do Patricia's hair. Jenny, my cousin, did her make up (we call ourselves the GLAM SQUAD), and she looked STUNNING! Of course, we were running on Latin time combined with Mormon time, so we were late to the temple.

The awesome thing about this weekend, I was able to speak Spanish the whole time because none of their extended family spoke English fluently! I got so much practice and I remembered how much I love speaking Spanish.

The sealing was beautiful! The Salazars/ Maniccia's have been members of the church for a long time, and have been married, but they weren't sealed together. They are now a forever family and they have quite the story! They changed their lives and were sealed in the temple all because a home teacher kept coming to their house, even when he wasn't wanted by some members. That same home teacher was paralyzed a few years ago, but was able to come and be a witness at their sealing. Patricia (the mom) said that she always knew that he would be a witness whenever her family was sealed together. It was such a special moment and Sean and I are glad we got to be a part of it!

Sean then went home, and I went to the church to do all of the last-minute details. The family didn't even show up until 45 min. after the party started...lol! It was so fun...lots of music, food, and great company. Everyone came together to help out with everything--which made my job so much easier. I loved doing this! They are on their way towards salvation and they are so happy! I will post pictures later!

Anyway, Sunday was church, also the airing of Extreme Makeover Home Edition...the one here in Cocoa! I didn't get to see it though, because that night we had a special fireside from Brother Top...a religious education teacher from BYU...also a stake president and former mission president. His message was "Look up. Reach out. Hold on." He was an AMAZING speaker and it was such a spiritual event! He told stories, gave comfort and direction, and gave a completely different outlook when Peter walked on water! He gave a lot of C.S. Lewis quotes and recommended the movie "Shadowlands" for those of you who haven't seen it, as well as the talk "Come Unto Him" by Jeffery R. Holland. So so so amazing! We were really uplifted...and so was everyone there! If Brother Top ever comes to your stake...TAKE THE TIME TO GO!!!

Afterwards, Sean, Kegan (his brother) and I went to the Parhams (THIS AWESOME couple that we have been getting really close to lately...they are SO funny!) and played Yahtzee.
I tell you it was the most exciting game of Yahtzee we have ever played! It was more exciting because we played with them! Then we went to the Salazars (10 pm) to pick up the stuff I left there. We said goodbye to their whole family because they were all leaving, then headed home. We stayed long enough to spend the first few moments of Valentine's Day together, then finally fell asleep!

Great weekend...super busy...but wouldn't have traded it for anything! Love LOVE LoVe!

P.S. If you haven't heard of or ever tried Veggie Straws...NOW IS THE TIME!!! You can get them from a Whole Food store, any health food store, or anything similar! Let me know what you think of them!!!
